What is WikiDD?
WikiDD is a great direct download search engine and directory on the net. We started in 2009 as an alternative to the direct download forums and other static webs.
Our goal is to provide an easy-to-use directory and search engine for all kinds of direct downloads ( like megaupload or rapidsahre links, and also emule links). Visitors of WikiDD can share links (and elinks) with all visitors.
What is a direct download?
Direct Download means that you download the file from one centralized server, isn't a P2P, and normally a direct download is faster than a P2P download.
You can find many different servers of direct downloads on Internet ( like megaupload or rapidsahre), you can upload your files on any of them and share the links whit every-world using WikiDD.
What is an elink?
Elinks or emule links are the links for emule or edonkey files, for use this links you need a P2P program like emule.
Why dont you have BitTorrent links?
We decide no hosting any kind of file, for share BitTorrent is necessary upload a .torrent file. The second reason is that for BitTorrent you can use power-full webs like Piratebay or Mininova.
Why should I register at WikiDD?
Once you have registered on WikiDD, you can:
- Share the links with any people.
- You can post comments on the shares.
- Personalize WikiDD with your own settings.
- Use an advanced search.
Is downloading files from direct download servers illegal?
Depending on the circumstances, such as the content in question and the country you're living in, this might be illegal. In some countries, it is illegal to download and upload copyrighted material. In this case, make sure that you only download unlicensed content. In some other countries, it is allowed to download copyrighted material, as long as you don't upload. To be on the safe side, we advise you not to download any copyrighted content at all.
What to do if I want you to remove certain copyrighted files from your website?
Please note that we do not host any copyrighted content on this website. The files are host in other servers. That's means that we can't do anything for delete this files. If you detect any illegal files, you must contact with the server who are hosting it. However, you must know than many servers are on countries where share copyrighted material is allowed.
What are all those .rar, .r01, .r02 files?
These files are so-called RAR archives. You need to install WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the data of the files. WinRAR can be downloaded from the WinRar website, 7-Zip from 7-Zip.org.
And what about .001, .002, .003 files?
These files are splitted by several programs. You can merge them by using HJSplit, Hacha or what you like.
Some technical details
WikiDD is entirely written by us (the admins) in PHP and MySQL. It doesn't use any template or other system, because they are all too slow. WikiDD have the AGPL licence, that's means that you can download the source-code, using it and change it, however you must liberate the modifications for the community.
